Passionate About Inspiring Others
My passion lies where advocacy and education meet. Law school taught me to contend for what I believe in; education encourages me to equip others with the tools needed for success; and wife/motherhood inspires me to excel.
All children deserve the best opportunities to learn and grow. Rigor and consistency are some of the Jump-Start ingredients that will help your scholar overcome whatever obstacles may present themselves.
Overcoming obstacles is something that I deeply understand. As a first generation college graduate, a first generation doctoral degree holder, oldest sibling, wife, and mother of four children, the journey to academic achievement has not been easy. I recall moments from my high school days at The Talented and Gifted Magnet in Dallas, TX, one of the top high schools in the nation, when I felt overwhelmed. The challenges of a quality education, with inadequate support, made learning laborious, rather than enlightening. Finding the place where dedicated, talented teachers were met with engaging, inspiring lessons was refreshing and I am blessed to have experienced this at my high school, undergraduate, law school and graduate institutions. It is my desire to see students everywhere experience this same thing, no matter what it takes. Having a quality primary and secondary academic foundation is the necessary Jump-Start needed to catapult our scholars to successful futures. I am so excited to have you along for the ride!
With my own children as my inspiration, each lesson is individually crafted with excellence in mind. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills have been carefully examined at each grade level and aligned to lesson plans to ensure content mastery. As a mother of children who are gifted each in their own way and a believer in the giftedness of ALL children, each lesson is differentiated to address all types of learners and is scaffolded across at least two grade levels in order to provide intervention and enrichment as needed.
